I was fortunate to begin my career at Bell Labs, the Bell System’s legendary research arm - at a time when technology was new.

As one of the most innovative institutions in history with breakthroughs such as the transistor, C programming language, UNIX, laser, solar cell, etc., our team enabled computers to communicate with each other - moving communications from traditional circuit-switched telephone lines to packet switching and TCP/IP - the initial building blocks of the Internet.

At the time, the Bell System was a vast, FCC‑regulated telecommunications monopoly serving most of the U.S. and parts of Canada.

When the U.S. Department of Justice mandated its breakup, 22 local telephone companies became independent entities, leaving a smaller AT&T focused on long‑distance services - and later, mobile services.

The divestiture opened the door to innovation and competition and our team launched one of the first profit centers - AT&T Data Security Services, helping organizations protect information at a time when digital trust was becoming essential.

As the Information Age accelerated, I applied my technology background across software, marketing, and mergers and acquisitions.

I also worked for Computer Associates, then the world’s second-largest software company - and two of the Big Four professional services firms serving companies, governments, and organizations worldwide.

Over the years, I developed these corporate programs designed to connect strategy with human behavior:

CHANGING OPINIONS AND BEHAVIORS

  • Translates what an organization sells into psychological innovation that systematically engages buyers to buy sooner and more often, increasing top line sales and market share.

BRANDING PANDAS

  • Etches an emotional connection for some of the world’s greatest brands - so that a brand is instantly recognizable with a positive impression - much like the panda is known around the world.

In the second half of my career, I became proficient at corporate development and business development, which led to advising multinational clients in a variety of industries.

Finally, I established myself as an independent advisor - created Peak Performance to help organizations navigate growth, change, and complexity - and serve on Advisory Boards.
